Calvert Cliffs Calvert Cliffs State Park in Lusby is a day-use park featuring a sandy beach, nature trails, a recycled tire playground, picnic pavilions and fishing areas. In addition to traditional beach activities, the Calvert Cliffs beach boasts fossil hunting opportunities, with fossils from over 600 species, most notably shark teeth. The park is open daily from sunrise to sunset, year-round.
North Beach, MD North Beach is a pedestrian-friendly town on the northern tip of Calvert County. Events and attractions within easy walking distance of one another. Recently voted “Best Bay Beach” and “Best Bay Town,” North Beach is the perfect place to spend a day or to host your next outdoor get-together with family and friends. From nature-watching at the Wetlands Overlook Park to traditional beach fun in the sand, North Beach has something for everyone.
Sandy Point This 786-acre Maryland State Park is known for its majestic views of the Chesapeake Bay from its sandy beaches and picnic areas. Part of the Chesapeake Bay Gateways Network, Sandy Point offers swimming, picnicking, fishing, crabbing, boating, hiking, camping, wildlife viewing and historic areas, including the Sandy Point Shoal Lighthouse. The park is open from 6am to sunset until October 31 but remains open under adjusted hours year-round.
