Winter Festival of Lights Returns to Upper Marlboro for 30th Year
If you’re ready to get into the holiday spirit, look no further than nearby Watkins Regional Park in Upper Marlboro, MD, just down the road from BeechTree. The 30th Annual Winter Festival of Lights features more than one million lights across numerous themed displays, including one of the tallest tree displays in the state.
Take your own vehicle or a hayride through the brilliant display of lights from now until January 1st, and soak up the holiday cheer in a family-friendly environment at a family-friendly price. While you’re there, be sure to stop by the Watkins Nature Center to warm up by the fire, enjoy refreshments and see how the animals decorate for the holidays!
Once again, Prince George’s County Department of Parks and Recreation is collecting canned goods/non-perishable food items at this year’s Festival of Lights, so don’t forget to bring an item to be donated to local food banks.
Admission starts at $5 per car (cash only) and multi-visit passes are available. And as in years past, admission is free on Christmas day!
